    100 Black Men of Jax, Inc. Bloneva Palmer Early Educ. Sch.

    • Must be admitted into the FSCJ Early Childhood Education Bachelor of Science program
    • Must have earned Associate degree at FSCJ
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
    • Apply for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must earn at  least 24 credit hours during academic year for which the scholarship is awarded
    • Must submit a 500-word essay stating reason for pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education
    • Maintain good academic standing during enrollment at Florida State College at Jacksonville.



    2017-2018 Summer Child Care

    • All awards will be based on the student’s actual enrollment at the time of application. Should an applicant drop enrollment following the drop/add period, their grant will be adjusted to reflect their actual enrollment status
    • Student must have a minimum 2.5 College GPA and be in good academic standing to include meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.  For students with no college credit, a minimum 2.5 unweighted high school GPA is required or a GED® with acceptable diplomia type code.
    • Student must have demonstrated unmet need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
    • Student must not owe a debt to FSCJ or Chappell Childcare Center
    • Child(ren) must be between the ages of 1-5 and have not completed a VPK program
    • Awards will be limited to the first 2 children on the application
    • Applicants whose child(ren) is not claimed on the tax return and/or FAFSA will not be eligible to receive the childcare grant
    • Students must apply for the grant each term
    • Funding is on a first-come, first-served basis.
    • Applicants will be notified of their tentative awards within 30 business days of receipt of their application and again should there be any adjustments
    • This grant can only be used at the Chappell Childcare Centers
    • All payments will be made directly to Chappell Childcare Centers on behalf of the student
    • Application Checklist: Please be advised that incomplete applications will not be processed:

      • The form includes all parental information (information for both parents listed on the child’s birth certificate)
      • Copy of child’s birth certificate is attached

    Adele and Herbert Fishler Memorial Endowed Scholarship

    • Be enrolled at least part-time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Be a resident of Nassau county
    • Submit one letter of recommendation
    • Apply for financial aid using the FAFSA and demonstrate a financial need
    • Preference given to Fernandina Beach High School graduates



    Adult Education: Adult High School/ High School Equivalency Graduate Full-Time Scholarship

     
    • Applicant must be a graduate of FSCJ Adult High School(AHS) or High School Equivalency(HSE) program
    • Have completed at least three credits with the FSCJ Adult Education Program

    • Student must submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor, file a FAFSA, and complete the financial aid process

    • Students should be enrolled in Adult High School courses and have college-level placement scores
    • Must file a FAFSA and complete the financial aid process
    • Must have and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA



    Advanced Technology Center - Geis Endowed Scholarship

    • Be enrolled full time (12 or more credit hours)
    • Enrolled in courses leading to a degree or certification in an Applied Science program or certificate in Career and Technical Education or Post-Secondary Adult Vocational Program.
    • Submit two letters of recommendation from Florida State College at Jacksonville faculty
    • Have and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA



    AFC Vivian Dellinger Endowed Scholarship

    • Be a degree or certificate seeking student
    • Have completed at least 9 credit hours of college-level coursework
    • Be enrolled at least part time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Submit two letters of recommendation from current FSCJ faculty members
    • Submit a one page essay on the potential impact of the scholarship



    Air Force Association "Student of Promise" Scholarship

    • Be enrolled at least part time (6 credit hours or more)
    • Must be a high school graduate or GED recipient within the last five (5) years
    • Must not have qualified for "Florida's Bright Futures" or the "Gold Medallion" scholarship
    • Must apply for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must be currently enrolled in the Aircraft Airframe Mechanics, Aircraft Power Plant Mechanics or the Aviation Maintenance Management program
    • Must submit a one page essay stating the reason/desire for an Aviation Maintenance career
    • Must include two letters of recommendation for scholarship consideration that must include the writer's original signature, address, phone number and e-mail address
    • Must provide most recent transcript
    • Previous awardees MAY apply for subsequent year assistance



    Alfred I duPont Foundation Endowed Scholarship

    • Be a U.S. citizen
    • Have and maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
    • Be enrolled at least part-time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Recipients will be chosen from the following population groups in descending order or priority: Duval, Baker, Nassau, St. John's, Putman, Flager and Clay County residents; state of Florida residents; United States residents



    Anne E. Randolph Scholarship

    • Must be African-American
    • Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hours or more)
    • Must be in an degree-seeking program
    • Must  have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Must submit copy of transcript
    • Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need via the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)



    Arlington Lions Club Scholarship

     
    • This scholarship is for tuition, books and lab fees only.
    • Must be enrolled full time (12 or more hours) in the Ophthalmic Technician Program
    • Must apply for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
    • Must not be eligible to receive any type of financial aid (federal, state, institutional, or campus based aid) with the exception of loans.
    • Must be willing to attend an awards banquet with the Arlington Lions Club (At least one FSCJ staff will attend with student).
    • Must comply with all college regulations, rules and conduct codes governing students on campus.



    Art L. Ruppel Courage Endowed Scholarship for Fine or Performing Arts

    • Be enrolled at least part time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Enrolled in the fine or performing arts and take at least one such course per term (if full time) or per year (if part time)
    • Have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Submit a personal statement, stating educational and professional goals and what, if anything is impeding those goals (This is not a separate statement it is part of the general essay)
    • Preference will be given to students who demonstrate a financial need 



    AT&T Endowed Scholarship

    • Be enrolled at least part time (6 or more credit hours) in any academic program
    • Have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Apply for financial aid using the FAFSA and demonstrate a financial need



    Aviation Scholarship

    • Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hours or more)
    • Seeking a degree or certificate Aviation program
    • Must apply for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must demonstrate a financial need
    • Must submit a statement with no more than 500 words describing "Their educational and career goals, where they see themselves in five years, and why they should receive a scholarship award over other candidates"
    • Must submit two letters of recommendation
    • Must understand that most employers in the aviation industry require a background check and a drug screening prior to the employment, as this is a security and safety sensitive environment. If you are not comfortable with or feel that you will not be able to meet these pre-employment requirements, you may need to consider another career choice.



    Bank of America Dream Makers Scholarship

    • Must be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours or more)
    • Must be a first generation college student
    • Must be a Florida resident
    • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
    • Must apply for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must submit one letter of recommendation



    Bank of America Endowed Scholarship

    • Be enrolled at least part time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA and demonstrate a financial need (and be identified as a low to moderate income household)
    • Have and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
    • May be in any academic program



    Baptist Medical Center Nassau Auxiliary Scholarship

    • Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Must be in a nursing or allied health degree program
    • Must be a Nassau county resident
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
    • Must have two letters of recommendation
    • Apply for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Demonstrate a financial need



    Barbara Anne Thomas, V215 Nursing Endowed Scholarship

    • Be enrolled at least part time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Be enrolled in a Health Program
    • Have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Apply for financial aid using the FAFSA



    Barnes Family Endowed Scholarship for Nursing Students

    • Be enrolled at least part time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Accepted into the College's Nursing Program
    • Have and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
    • Apply for financial aid using the FAFSA and demonstrate a financial need
    • Submit two letters of recommendation (one must be from a high school counselor, college counselor, or instructor)
    • Submit an essay on ""Why College is Important"" (This topic is included in the General Essay requirement.)
    • Preference will be given to single parents



    Betty P. Cook Endowed Scholarship

    • Be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at the Nassau Center
    • Have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA and demonstrate a financial need



    Byron Craig Sessions Memorial Endowed Scholarship

    • Must be a single black male between the ages of 17 to 25 by the first day of the academic year scholarship will be awarded for
    • Must be a high school graduate who is enrolled in his first term at Florida State College at Jacksonville
    • Be enrolled full time (12 or more credit hours)
    • Have and maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
    • Submit two letters of recommendation (preferably from a high school counselor, instructor, an employer, or minister of your church)
    • Submit a statement explaining their career and educational goals(this is including in the general essay) 
    • Scholarship may only be used for Fall and Spring terms



    Cameron Corbitt Memorial Scholarship

    • Must be enrolled at least part time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Must be taking college credit courses
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Must submit copy of transcript
    • Must apply for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must demonstrate a financial need
    • Must submit two letters of recommendation (one must be from a high school, college counselor or instructor)
    • Must submit an essay on "Why College is Important" (This is included in the general essay)



    Captain Robert C. Sorensen Endowed Scholarship

    • Be enrolled at least part time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Enrolled in the Fire Science Program
    • Apply for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Have and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
    • Submit two letters of recommendation



    Carter and Cheryl Bryan Nursing Scholarship

    • Must be enrolled full-time (12 or more credit hours)
    • Must be accepted in the Nursing program
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Must apply for financial aid using the FAFSA



    Cascone Family Foundation Endowed Scholarship

    • Be a degree seeking student
    • Be enrolled full time (12 or more credit hours)
    • Have and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
    • Be ineligible for Florida Bright Futures Scholarship
    • Submit an essay of approximately 250 words on why you need/deserve the scholarship
    • Submit a copy of transcript



    Center Academy Jacksonville Scholarship

    • Must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Must be enrolled at least part time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Must apply for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must demonstrate a financial need
    • Must submit a copy of transcript
    • Must have graduated from the Jacksonville Beaches location of Center Academy for at least one school year (two full semesters) and have been in good standing upon leaving the school



    Charles Clarkson Family Endowed Scholarship

    • Be enrolled at least part time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Have and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
    • Complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA and demonstrate a financial need
    • Preference will be given to students with the greatest need



    Child Care Grant

    Civitan Club Endowed Scholarship

    • Be enrolled in a certificate program
    • Be enrolled at least part time (180 contact hours)
    • Complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Demonstrate a financial need
    • Scholarship finalists may be interviewed by members of the Civitan Club



    Clarence Richardson Marketing/Communications Scholarship

    • Be enrolled in the Associate in Arts program majoring in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Communication, Telecommunications, Journalism, or a related field
    • Students enrolled in Graphic Design, Multimedia Technologies or Marketing Management Associate in Science programs may also apply
    • Have completed 18 college credit hours
    • Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
    • Enroll and complete at least six credit hours both fall and spring (total of 12 hours)
    • Submit two letters of recommendation, at least one of which must come from a FSCJ faculty member
    • Submit an essay of no more than 300 words explaining their career goal and previous work activities related to their major (i.e., related volunteer work, freelance work, or participation in related student organizations) and reason for needing the scholarship (included in general essay)
    • Student must not be receiving any other scholarship or grant



    Claude Collins Hospitality Scholarship

    • Must be enrolled in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management
    • Must have a 3.0 GPA
    • Must submit a formal resume
    • Must provide two letters of recommendation from supervisor and/ or faculty member or instructor
    • Must submit an essay answering the following question: Where do you see your professional career after completion of your program/degree?
    • Must demonstrate financial need & submit a FAFSA application



    Clifford Ray Scholarship

    • Must have received a GED
    • Be enrolled full time (12 or more credit hours)
    • Seeking a degree or certificate
    • Be a Nassau county resident
    • Submit two letters of recommendation
    • Have and maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
    • Submit an essay stating how the scholarship will benefit the student and state whether or not they are the first in their family to attend college



    Community First Cares Foundation Endowed Scholarship

    • Be enrolled at least part time (6 or more credit hours) in coursework applicable to a career in business, health sciences, or education
    • Be a resident of Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam, or St. Johns County
    • Have and maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
    • Complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Demonstrate a financial need
    • Submit two letters of recommendation
    • Submit a resume detailing work history
    • Submit an original essay of 500 words about the importance of community involvement, and describe your own community service activities



    Compass Bank Endowed Scholarship

    • Must be a current or a future student in any academic program
    • Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Must complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must demonstrate a financial need
    • Must be a low income working student in need of financial assistance to obtain a higher education



    CSX Endowed Scholarship

    • Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 or more credits hours)
    • Must desire to pursue a course of study in mathematics, sciences, or engineering
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Must complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA



    David F. Miller Freedom Endowed Scholarship

    • Be enrolled full-time (12 or more credit hours)
    • Earn a minimum of 24 credits by the end of the academic year
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
    • Must be a graduate of a Nassau County High School in the spring prior to the academic year in which they are applying for the scholarship
    • Must complete application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must demonstrate a financial need



    Demetree Family Foundation Endowed Scholarship

    • Must be enrolled at least part time (6 or more credit hours) in any academic program
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
    • Must complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must demonstrate a financial need



    Divine Divas

    • Be enrolled at least part time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Have and maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
    • Submit one letter of recommendation
    • Submit an essay on: What Difference Will I Make in Someone’s Life?
    • Preference will be given to cosmetology students and students that submit a letter of recommendation from Community Connections, Hubbard House, Angel Aid, United Way Agencies, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. or First Baptist of Mandarin



    Douglas Van Noppen Memorial Endowed Scholarship

    • Must be new or continuing nursing student
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative FSCJ GPA
    • Must complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must write a letter to Mrs. Melissa Van Noppen, widow of Douglas Van Noppen, describing themselves and why they want to be a nurse.
    • Preference will be given to students with a financial need



    Dr. Brenda Robinson Simmons African American History Endowed

    • Must be enrolled at least part time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Must be enrolled in a Liberal Arts or workforce program
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative high school or college GPA
    • Must have demonstrated leadership skills and documented progress towards transferring to an upper division college or university or be actively seeking permanent employment or paid internships
    • Must submit a statement outlining the student’s educational and job placement plans and include how an African American historical individual has been inspirational or has mentored the student’s success to date
    • Must submit two letters of recommendation (one from an instructor or professor who can affirm the student’s academic ability and one from an academic or community leader who can attest to the student’s leadership and service to the school or community)



    Dr. H. Marshall Taylor Memorial Endowed Scholarship

    • Must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in a Health Program
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
    • Must complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must demonstrate a financial need



    Dr. H.D. "BO" Cotton Memorial Endowed Scholarship

    • Must have completed minimum 24 credit hours
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Must complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Be enrolled full time (12 or more credit hours) in an AA or AS degree program
    • Submit two letters of recommendation which address leadership qualities.
    • Submit documentation demonstrating leadership qualities in the areas of student activities, athletics, church, government or community activities.



    Dr. Isabella K. Sharpe Respiratory Care Endowed Scholarship

    • Must be enrolled full-time (12 or more credit hours) in a Respiratory Care Program
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Must submit a one page paper outlining the need for financial assistance



    Dr. Linda McLucas Fisher

    Dr. Linda McLucas Fisher Scholarship 
     
    • Must be a female, 25 years of age or older, attending FSCJ for less than 12 credit hours per semester (part-time student)
    • Must be continuously enrolled as a part-time student, with at least one course per semester at FSCJ in pursuit of a degree
    • Must have a high school diploma or GED
    • Must demonstrate Financial Need 
    • Must maintain a GPA of 2.0



    Dr. Lois Gibson Scholarship

    • Be enrolled in the professional phase of the Associate Degree Nursing program
    • Be African American
    • Have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Apply for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Submit a one page statement about future plans for a career in nursing



    Dr. Myron (Mike) and Marilyn Mass Nursing and Allied Health Careers Endowed Scholarship

    • Must be enrolled in a Nursing or Allied Health Program of Study
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
    • Must be a resident of Clay, Duval, Nassau or St. Johns Counties
    • Must submit a 250-500 word essay on what motivated his/her interest to care for the senior population
    • Must complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must be conducting or desiring to conduct clinical experience at a long-term care facility approved by Florida State College at Jacksonville
    • Priority given to eligible students conducting or desiring to conduct their clinical experience at River Garden Senior Services in Jacksonville, Florida



    Dr. Reginald Touchton Memorial Nursing Endowed Scholarship

    • Must be in the second term or higher of the nursing curriculum
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
    • Must apply for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must submit an essay regarding "How will this assistance help your nursing career and ability to promote health in the greater Jacksonville community?"



    Dr. Stephen R. Wise Degree Completion Endowed Scholarship

    • Must be a degree seeking student in one of the following fields at FSCJ: Advanced Manufacturing, Aviation and Aerospace, Finance and Insurance Services, Information Technology, Health and Life Sciences, or Logistics and Distribution
    • Be enrolled at least part time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Must have completed at least 45 credit hours of coursework if in a two-year program, or 90 credit hours of coursework if in a four-year program
    • Have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Submit a 250-word essay on his/her career path and chosen field



    Eartha M.M. White Endowed Scholarship

    • Must be enrolled at least part time (6 or more credit hours) in a Health Care Program
    • Must be African American
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
    • Must complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must demonstrate a financial need



    Edgar and Helen Wallace Memorial Endowed Scholarship

    • Must be pursuing an AA, AS, or bachelor’s degree
    • Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
    • Must complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must demonstrate a financial need
    • Must be a single parent of a child under 18
    • Must be a resident of Duval or Nassau Counties
    • Must be a US citizen
    • Preference will be given to a student with any or all of the following life situations:
      • Be orphaned or abandoned by both parents as a child
      • Be a first member of their immediate family to attend college
      • Have served in the US military for at least two years with an honorable discharge.



    Elizabeth Edgar Hall Endowed Scholarship

    • Must be a female student
    • Must be enrolled a minimum of 9 credit hours
    • Must have completed at least 12 credit hours of college study
    • Must complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must demonstrate a financial need
    • Must provide a copy of all post-secondary school transcripts
    • Must be available for a personal interview in April



    Emily B. and V. Hawley Smith, Jr. Endowed Scholarship

    • Applicant must be enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hours)
    • Have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Submit an original essay of 300-500 words making a personal statement about goals and the value of the scholarship toward achieving those goals

    Employee Endowed Scholarship

    • Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Must be a second year student (defined as having completed between 30 and 50 credit hours only)

    • Must apply for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Scholarship opportunities available to all eligible college credit students, and at least one additional award provided for a student athlete if eligible



    English for Academic Purposes Scholarship

    Scholarship covers up to 2 classes per academic year.
    • Be accepted to a program that includes EAP courses.
    • Must be taking or will take EAP Reading, Listening, Writing, or Grammar
    • Must have spent 1 session in ESOL 800 and/or 1 semester in EAP courses.

    Estelle W. McKissick Academic Excellence Endowed Scholarship

    • Reside in Duval County
    • Be enrolled at least part-time (minimum 6 credit hours)

    • File the FAFSA form with the federal government, and remain in good standing as a student
    • Be enrolled in College Credit or Non Credit Workforce Program
    • Be a High School Graduate (standard high school or GED® Diploma) or Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) Score of 8.0 or higher in Reading & Math
    • Submit a satisfactory two page essay on “Why a College Education is Important to Me, My Community, and My Church?"
    • Provide documentation through a letter of reference from an agency or program of Community and/or Church Service

    Fall Childcare Scholarship (2178)

    • All awards will be based on the student’s actual enrollment at the time of application. Should an applicant drop enrollment following the drop/add period, their grant will be adjusted to reflect their actual enrollment status
    • Student must have a minimum 2.5 College GPA and be in good academic standing to include meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.  For students with no college credit, a minimum 2.5 unweighted high school GPA is required or a GED® with acceptable diplomia type code.
    • Student must have demonstrated unmet need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
    • Student must not owe a debt to FSCJ or Chappell Childcare Center
    • Child(ren) must be between the ages of 1-5 and have not completed a VPK program
    • Awards will be limited to the first 2 children on the application
    • Applicants whose child(ren) is not claimed on the tax return and/or FAFSA will not be eligible to receive the childcare grant
    • Students must apply for the grant each term
    • Funding is on a first-come, first-served basis.
    • Applicants will be notified of their tentative awards within 30 business days of receipt of their application and again should there be any adjustments
    • This grant can only be used at the Chappell Childcare Centers
    • All payments will be made directly to Chappell Childcare Centers on behalf of the student

    • Must be accepted into the Nursing Program
    • Be enrolled full time  (12 or more Credit hours)

    FSCJ Promise

    The FSCJ Promise Scholarship is our commitment to fund the first two years of higher education for Duval and Nassau county students wanting to start their academic journey at FSCJ. The scholarship is intended to help local students create financial sustainability while removing economic barriers and providing an accessible and affordable pathway to degree completion.

    Application Priority Deadline: June 30, 2018

    Program Eligibility Requirements:

    • Duval or Nassau county resident who graduated from a Duval or Nassau county public high school within the past 3 years.
    • First time in college
    • Pell Grant eligible
    • Enroll full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours per term)

    Program Continuation Requirements:

    • Maintain a 2.0 GPA and be continuously enrolled
    • Must meet with a Student Success Advisor and develop and Academic Degree Plan prior to the first term of enrollment at FSCJ.  
    • Serve 60 hours of community service, either in conjunction with the Office of Student Engagement or the Center for Civic Engagement

    Funding:

    FSCJ pays tuition, fees, and books (up to 700.00) after federal and state financial aid has been applied. The funding is available for four consecutive terms (up to 15 credit hours each term; does not include Summer Term).

     




    Gandhi Memorial Society Endowed Scholarship

    • Must be enrolled full time(12 or more) as a sophomore, junior, or senior and complete 24 credits by the end of the academic year
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA
    • Must complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Must demonstrate a financial need
    • Must submit proof of a commitment to nonviolence, humanitarian and community service.



    Gayle and Bill Gower Endowed Scholarship

    • Must be a US citizen
    • Must have graduated from a Nassau County high school or be employed at the Boys and Girls Club of America
    • Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 or more credit hours)
    • Must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours by the end of each academic year
    • Must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA

    George Strate, Sr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship

    • Have a high school equivalency degree (GED) or high school diploma
    • Be enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hours or more) in a degree or certificate program
    • Complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA
    • Submit a 300 word essay on the topic of “How Fishing Has Influenced Your Life"
    • Must have participated in the George Strate, Sr. Memorial Fishing Tournament (formerly the Hooked on Schools Fishing Tournament)
    • Have and maintain a 2.0 GPA
    • Preference will be given to students who demonstrate a financial need



    Gideon T. Burdett Endowed Scholarship

    • Be enrolled at least full time (12 or more credit hours) in a degree program or enrolled a minimum of 900 clock hours in a vocational program
    • Have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
    • First Preference will be given to blood relatives of Gideon T Burdett, Jr. (documentation required)
    • Second Preference will be given to employees or descendants of employees of the Seaboard Coastline Railroad Company or Atlantic Coastline Railroad (documentation required)
    • If no priority candidates qualify, any student with the required enrollment and GPA may apply



    Green Industry Scholarship

    • Be a resident of Duval, St. Johns, Clay, Baker or Nassau County
    • Submit a one page essay about your green industry career interest
    • Be enrolled at least part-time (6 or more credit hours) in coursework applicable to a career in the green industry (Horticulture, Botany, Forestry) or a program associated with environmental studies
    • Have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Complete the application for financial aid using the FAFSA



    Harriet B. Barrett Scholarship

    • Must be a female enrolled at least part time (6 credit hours or more)
    • Must have participated in the Rosanne R. Hartwell Women’s Center
    • Must be a resident of Duval County
    • Must be experiencing a financial emergency. 
    • Must submit a letter of recommendation from a staff member from the Rosanne R. Hartwell Women’s Center

    Haskell Endowed Scholarship

    • Be a U.S citizen
    • Be enrolled at least part time (6 or more credit hours each term)
    • Have and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and complete 75% of college courses registered in with a grade of C or better
    • Preference given to students who still have a substantial financial need after exhausting all other forms of aid available.



    Helios Education Foundation First Generation Scholars Prog.

    • Be enrolled at least part time (6 credit hours or more)
    • Be in good standing with the college
    • Have and maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
    • Be a first generation in college student
    • Be enrolled in or have completed the life skills class (SLS1103 or SLS 0005) offered at FSCJ

    • Student must be referred from the following agencies: Beaches Habitat for Humanity, Habitat for Humanity of St. Augustine, Foundation Academy, PACE Center for Girls, The Children’s Home Society, or be a recipient of the Herbert W. Scheidel Leadership in Action Award.
    • Must qualify as dependents of Beaches Habitat and Habitat St. Johns full time employees who have served and are serving Beaches Habitat and Habitat St. Johns for at least 3 years

    • Students must be currently admitted and enrolled full-time in the Logistics BAS program. Students enrolled in final term of the program may apply if enrolled less than full-time.

    • Must be enrolled in the culinary arts program

    • Submit a two page essay on "The Future of Food Service in America"
    • Submit two letters of recommendation: One from faculty and one form a current food service sponsor



    North Council Scholarship

    • Must graduate with at least a 2.5 GPA from William M. Raines, Jean Ribault, First Coast or Andrew Jackson High School within three years of application date.
    • Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 hours) in a degree seeking program at Florida State College at Jacksonville.
    • Must submit two letters of recommendation from a non-family member.
    • Must comply with all College regulations, rules and codes of conduct governing students on campus.
    • Must attend a North Council luncheon as a guest to receive ceremonial scholarship check and give a two minute presentation on education and career goals.
    • Students can reapply for this scholarship as long as all criteria continue to be met.

One paragraph written or typed statement on one of the following topics: 1)How you plan using knowledge from the program in caring for older adults in our community. 2)A novel idea or project you plan on implementing in conjunction with a senior care organization to enhance care of the older adult. 3) Describe an experience in your life that has inspired your desire to care for seniors and explain how you will use this experience to make a positive difference in working with older adults.

    The Gay King Dental Hygiene Scholarship

    Up to two full-time $1500.00 scholarships (to be awarded $750.00 during the Fall and $750.00 during the Spring Terms)

    • Must be a resident of Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, or St. Johns County for a consecutive period of at least twelve calendar months

    • The student(s) selected should have the greatest unmet need after other available financial awards have been made.
    • The name(s) of the student(s) who receive Awards will be provided to Donor so that the student(s) may be presented with volunteer opportunities with THE PLAYERS Championship.

    • Must be enrolled in the Nursing or Accounting academic programs
